To celebrate Le Coq Sportif’s recent collaboration with Footpatrol, a project that was one of five collaborations with premier retailers focused upon the ‘Cycling Club’ theme, Breaks created a bike workshop installation in the Footpatrol store.
The workshop featured bike parts, frame & work bench, which was presided over by a sealed case that contained various tools and the collaborative product itself; socks, shoes and cycling jersey. The collection pays homage to Le Coq Sportif’s cycling roots, whilst showcasing the marriage between cycling and streetwear from each retailers’ perspective. Footpatrol looked to the two nations flags as inspiration, using the colours seen in the Great Britain and French flag throughout the collection. The Dark Grey/Black base used on the cycling jersey is a nod to the shop front colour.
The project also involved collaborations with Colette, Slam Jam, Highs & Lows and Sivasdesclazo, each designing a jersey and shoe. Additionally to launch the product, East London Fixed organised a ride from the store to the Crate Brewery in Hackney, undertaking a scenic route that covered both sides of the Thames.
